Summary/Abstract: Finding a professional voice to resonate with a confirmed passion and making a name in the field of science and technology represent by far the most demanding task an engineering student undergoes in the years following his graduation. Thinking and speaking about the pivotal role of the engineers in modern society, long before the actual process of becoming an acknowledged engineer, prepare the students for a career which bears the heavy burden for improving the quality of life in the future. That is why, second-year students’ oral presentations about various engineers, including their past and subsequent multifaceted influence, from technological breakthrough, economic change to social impact, have the advantage of addressing global challenges through the role model played by a selected and, so to speak, much appreciated engineer. In addition, the students have the opportunity to compare and contrast engineers from different historical periods and places around the world, which may expand as well their areas of interest and knowledge.
