Summary/Abstract: In recent decades, didactics has developed a multitude of new concepts or adapted concepts borrowed from other fields to match its own requirements, which has enabled it to establish itself as a scientific discipline in its own right. In our article we will focus on one of the most recent of these, namely the one relating to the teaching of French for university purposes (the French acronym being FOU). After a reappraisal of the main features of this type of approach, we propose to analyse to what extent it could be relocated and transformed into a model of collaborative teaching, capable of responding not only to the needs of foreign students in French universities, but also to those of native students in various other academic institutions, who are increasingly facing difficulties in integrating into academic life and requirements.
