1940. Moinești - denunciations, investigations, results

Summary/Abstract: On August 20, 1940, the General Directorate of the Police sent to the Iași Police Inspectorate a denunciation regarding the situation in Moinești and requested the verification of what was reported. In Moinești it was said to be many communists, and many minorities with anti-Romanian attitudes, and the mayor and the police chief did not take any measures. An undercover agent was sent to Moinești to check what was reported; some facts have been confirmed, and others have not. In September 1940, a note brought other information from Moinești, especially from the communist environment, which were verified, and measures taken. Among other things, the mayor Constantin Pascalini resigned, and the head of the Police was moved to another city.
