Summary/Abstract: In 879, the Eighth Ecumenical Council declared the Bulgarian Church autocephalous, and in the 1235 Revision of Hrabar's work On the Letters, it is said that in 879 God sent Cyril the Philosopher to the Slavic people [slovyanskiya narod], i.e., a political (elite) metonymy was used through his name to communicate the right to minister in the Slavic language [slovyanski ezik] as a supplement to its autocephaly. This novelty in our historiography is confirmed by the Greek and Latin sources on the events before and after the Eighth Ecumenical Council and by the dating of the canonization of Cyril the Philosopher on February 14, 879. The recognition of the autocephaly with its own language of the Bulgarian Church was because of the power of the new Christian state needed by Rome and Constantinople to deter the invasion of Islam. The participation of Bulgarian warriors in battles in 880 to defend the "Roman city and Christianity" is attested in the St. Michael the Warrior's vita (Michael of Potuka) and in an episode of Theophanes Continuatus. In 879 the building of Preslav began according to the plan of Jerusalem as the City of Christ (New Jerusalem) and was completed after 28 years in 907, and the new taxis within the scope of Orthodoxy was established under the peace treaty between Bulgaria and Byzantium of March 25, Kyriopascha in 927. The Decree and the Alphabetical Acrostic were created to serve the Kyriopascha in that year with a view to conceptualizing it as a calendar repetition of Creation Day on March 25: three kingdoms on earth are affirmed to correspond to the three persons of the Holy Trinity in heaven - with the Greek kingdom being the Father, with the Bulgarian kingdom being the Son, with the Iverian kingdom being the Holy Spirit; from the Cross of the Crucifixion God the Word utters the sounds of the Slavonic language [slovyanskiya ezik] for the firstborn, which are the Slavs [slovyanite].
