Summary/Abstract: General of the Romanian Army, advanced to the rank of marshal, together with general Constantin Prezan on the 25th of october 1930, by king Charles the Second of Romania, Alexandru Averescu remains in history as an accomplished tactician and strategist, gifted with an outstanding analytical sense of the imposed realities in different situations of conflict. Also, in the operative context of the front, general Averescu stood out thanks to his acute intuition in revealing the offensive or defensive maneuvers of the enemy, followed by the capability to mention the real intentions of the adversary and by localizing his precise hit. Politically, taking into account the fame that he had won on the battle field, general Averescu formed a sacrifice government due to the difficult conditions that existed at the beginning of 1918 and lauched the League of the People. By not participating in the elections that took place at the end of 1919 and because he had formed two governments from 1920 to 1921 and from 1926 to 1927, general Averescu didn't rise to the levels of expectations and sympathies triggered, although there were some remarcable achievements and to this regard er mention the adoption of the Agrarian Law from the 17th of July 1921. Memorialists, interwar journalists and also historians concluded, somehow unfairly, that Averescu, as a political representative didn't match the level and the amplitude of Averescu as a military.
