Summary/Abstract: The article examines the specific phenomenon “false change of gender,” characteristic of a certain group of nouns in the Italian language, denoting objects, actions, or abstract concepts. An analysis is carried out of the influence of the formal criteria on the meaning of the names, which are categorized according to etymological, morphological, and semantic features.
