Bacău heroes from the 14th Dorobanţi Regiment and the 8th Călăraşi Regiment in the Romanian War of Independence

Summary/Abstract: May 9, 2022 marks the 145th anniversary of the Proclamation of Romania’s State Independence. Most of the fighters from Bacău County who participated in the military campaign of the Romanian War of Independence were enlisted in the „Bacău” Battalion from the 14th Dorobanţi Regiment and in the „Bacău” Squadron from the 8th Calaraşi Regiment. The Dorobanns and cavalrymen from the two regiments paid an important blood tribute on the battlefields of the Romanian War of Independence.
