The second battle of Oituz (1917) in the analysis of General Polihron Dumitrescu

Summary/Abstract: On the 50th anniversary of the victories of 1917, the communist regime in Bucharest initiated a project to commemorate those victories. Among other things, the survivors of the battles of Marăşesti, Măraşti and Oituz were asked to write their memories and memoirs. General Polihron Dumitrescu, who took part in the battles as a young officer, wrote about the second battle of Oituz (1917). As a result, this was a profound material about heroism and sacrifice for the defense of Romania.
