Summary/Abstract: The following excerpt presents facts from the biography of the great Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, as well as professional analysis and interpretations of some of her famous paintings. This work successfully decodes motifs and recurring symbols from the artist’s oeuvre and offers interesting insights into her style and imagery, which in Kahlo’s case are inevitably linked to the challenging events of her life’s journey, partly shared with the famous artist Diego Rivera. The text is accompanied by numerous images and quotations both from the works of previous researchers and from diaries and publications of Kahlo and Rivera themselves.
