Summary/Abstract: Since 2019, in the Site of Remembrance of Stalag 326 (VI K) Senne, established in the area of one of the biggest POW camps in the German Reich, actions have been undertaken with the aim to intensify the activity to date with reference to the fate of Polish POWs. In the effect of these efforts, the first scientific study has already been prepared, the publication of which was planned for the turn of 2022/2023. This article intends to give a detailed insight into findings concerning the situation of the Polish detained in the camp in Senne and the work commandos dependent on the former. The author also expresses his critical comments on the state of historical research in Germany that deals with Polish Prisoners-of-War in the Wehrmacht captivity. Apart from this, he presents relevant prospects and appeals for launching joint Polish-German research projects exploring this subject matter.
