Modern Strategies of the Prose Writer Mihai Eminescu in Poor Dionysus

Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses in particular on the literary work Poor Dionis and analyses some aspects related to the peculiarities of Eminescu՚s prose, starting from the premise that Eminescu had the intuitions of a modern prose writer. The narrative strategies used by Mihai Eminescu reveal a writer who ambiguateshis text precisely through a strong control of epic causality. The study will also highlight his talent of putting his characters on stage, the creation of frames that follow one another cinematically, the use of the mise en abyme technique that orchestrates not only the content but also the form of the narrative and, last but not least, his concern for his relationship with the reader
