Summary/Abstract: Having originated initially as a psychotherapeutic approach in the 1970s, the transactional analysis rapidly developed as a psychodynamic theory of personality, development, and communication. This report aims to present transactional analysis as a theoretical framework that can be effectively applied in an organizational setting. The main theoretical concepts about the types of organizational structure, the group and the group dynamics, as well as the three-cornered contract as a necessary and important tool in the process of organizational consulting will be briefly considered. The application of transactional analysis in an organizational context can support the development of people and groups in organizations and be used as a complementary approach to improve communication and conflict resolution in a work environment. By using the tools of transactional analysis, organizational consultants can contribute to the development of employees’ autonomy and at the same time help them feel connected with the group and organization to which they belong.
