Summary/Abstract: According to the International Labour Organization, psychosocial problems at work can lead to illness, trauma, stigmatization, isolation, dissatisfaction. To date, no research has been done on the influence of work values on workplace stress. The study covered 309 employees from three hospitals in Bulgaria. The following were used: WIS/SVP Scale for evaluating professional values, which consists of 63 statements including 21 values (standardized for Bulgaria), four types of orientation and MBI. SPSS program is applied. The results of the MBI showed that a total of 179 (60%) were moderately and highly emotionally exhausted. Reduction of personal achievements in medium levels was observed in 129 and high levels in 144 – a total of 273 (88%). A total of 157 (51%) individuals reported depersonalization with regular and high levels, of which 60 (20%) fell into the high levels. More than half of the WIS/SVP scores correlated with the MBI-Depersonalization scale, for example: ability utilization, job persistence, altruism, personal development, economic security, social ties, working conditions. A negative statistical correlation was found with Self Orientation and Other Orientation. The MBI-Reduction of personal achievements scale has a positive correlation with: aesthetics, altruism, personal development, working conditions. The study found emotional burnout and serious problems in achieving professional success. The statistical relationships draw attention to the specific values that have both positive and negative correlations with the Burnout scales.
