Summary/Abstract: The volume „Seam of a rich woman” contains many short stories written in a chronicle way which evokes the world of annals, of the perpetuation of lords, of the backstage intrigues and of the small piquancy which animate the life of the rich people. The scripts reflect the parody way of Dominic Stanca`s style. The author replaces the rigid mechanism of the old chronicles, releasing in this way funny effects and unique styles. In „The real annals of Enaki Vataful” there is parodied the classical events from the chronicles such as: the seism, the holy terror, the drought and the assault of the hoppers but also the changes of the country throne. These texts offer the author the occasion to demonstrate the virtuosity in the art of imitation, the chronicles are a stylistic parody of a historical chronicle, the humor dissolves the solemnity of the human emptiness, the attitude of the author being both moralistic and ironic. Many times the author gives the impression that he likes the badinage and that he wants the reader to be his abetter of a game of irony in which, due to the the anti phrase he will build new significations. The author absorbs the stylistic formulas which are specific for the chronicles and with the help the iteration he bleeds them of the content and so, he will mechanize new comic effects. In some texts like: „The celebration of the aristocrat Melentie and in Tudorita`s week” the author will insert the journal, mocking the literature of the provincial fairs with it`s quiet – patriarchal atmosphere in which predominates the sentimental dramas. Tudorita`s writings let to be loomed the wish of sentimental adventure and so, the pseudo-chronicle becomes a space of affairs. The humor and irony are a constancy of Dominic Stanca. The author creates a world full of funny situations, a world where the regencies are changed without no reason, the lords and the aristocrats want everything only for themselves, women dream to amorous escapades, marriages are made on material considerations, the next husband must not be in bad relations with the regency. It is a space in which the funny things become serio-comic situations initiating a sick humor, a world where we can identify poor people like Istrate Nan or the cattleman Calomfir, two characters whose destiny emphasizes the fact that „the man is a gaunt”, and so the stories become tales of the bad-luck. Many times there is the impression that the epos is just a pretext for illustrating the excellent character of Dominic Stanca. If the events have nothing spectacular through it`s language, we can put the author in the breed of dedicated narrators.
