Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of a study aimed at verifying the hypothesis that non-right-handedness is a risk factor for higher levels of anxiety and neuroticism and lower stress resistance. Three groups of clinically healthy subjects (age 18-83 years), with different type of handedness, measured using a performance test - right-handed (83 subjects), left-handed (56 subjects) and mixed-handed (75 subjects), were examined with the Spielberger Anxiety Test, the Stress Resilience Test and the Neuroticism scale of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. The obtained results showed a lack of significant between-group differences on all studied personality characteristics: neuroticism, state and trait anxiety, and stress resilience, and did not support the hypothesis of a significant relationship between handedness and personality.
