Summary/Abstract: The Serbo-Croatian ethnic group located in the mountainous region of Banat represents a model for preserving the ethnic being in a new and, somewhat, hostile environment. Historically, this enclave is the consequence of three colonizations in three different historical stages, settling in seven villages, with the administrative and cultural center of the town of Carașova. From a linguistic perspective, the language of the inhabitants is not unitary, since there is a different dialect for each village. In terms of the number of inhabitants, there is a decrease in the population, a problem that has been identified since the period between the two world wars.
