Summary/Abstract: During the interwar period, the development of Bălți, both in socio-economic and architectural terms, proceeded at a rapid pace. From 1931 to 1939, the architect Etti Rosa Spirer (the only female architect in the city) worked in the City Technical Service at the Bălți City Hall. She was directly involved in the development of architectural plans and subsequent construction management, demonstrating high professional competence. Archival documents testifying to the work of the mayor’s office in the development and improvement of urban space certify the contribution of the staff architect II class Etty Rosa Spirer to the construction of educational institutions, public and private residential buildings. For her professional activities, she was awarded the medal “For the Construction of Schools”.
