Summary/Abstract: This book review examines the work titled "Zagrożone dorastanie i bezpieczeństwo młodzieży. Konteksty ryzyka i profilaktyki" ("Youth adolescence and safety at risk. Risk and prevention contexts"), by M.Z. Jędrzejko, M. Sarzała and W. Piestrzyński, who explore problematic behaviours among young people and the associated risk of developmental disorders. The authors present findings from recent studies that highlight current trends in teenage risky behaviours. They emphasise the significant role of media and peer groups in the negative socialisation processes affecting some adolescents, while also noting the diminishing role of the family as a protective factor against such risks. The book discusses effective strategies for enhancing young people’s knowledge, skills, and self-awareness in the realm of prevention. It addresses the complex challenges faced by youth, families, schools and various educational institutions in preventing these threats.
