Summary/Abstract: The author of this study examines the chain of events that took place in the Moldavian SSR in 1958-1963. The changes in the structure of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Moldova, the circle of close associates of the new first secretary, the removal of the undesirables and the return of the "former" are described. An analysis of the events in the highest echelons of power, in particular in 1958-1961 (with some consequences up until 1963), indicates a purge in the ranks of the Communist Party of Moldova. Most likely, it was coordinated from Moscow. The purge was carried out in the context of numerous reforms, the merger of institutions and a return to old structures. At this time, I. I. Bodyul became the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Republic, and high-ranking party members were dismissed. Among them were secretaries D. S. Gladkiy, D. G. Tkach, I. S. Koditsa and M. V. Skurtul (the latter was transferred to an executive position of republican significance). People loyal to I. I. Bodyul were promoted to high positions. But problems also emerged in the core of this group. The first important resignation was connected with the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Moldova E. S. Postov. He had previously replaced D. G. Tkach, who was responsible for ideological issues. The author of the article emphasizes that the conclusions he made are preliminary in nature, since a more in-depth analysis is needed to better understand the events of 1958-1963, which will allow us to determine the real reasons for the purge. Perhaps one of the reasons for the resignations and dismissals was the ignoring of national tendencies that emerged during the "thaw".
