Summary/Abstract: For a long time bribe and corruption have complicated social relations throughout the world, and very early the have become a part of Muslim social life. For some scientists the existence of these phenomena was the key reason for the decline of the Ottoman Empire. This paper does not discuss neither the history of bribe and corruption in the Muslim world nor their forms of government, but rather it discusses the issues of bribe and corruption through the prism of the two primary sources of Islam: Qur’an and Sunna. This paper also presents the Qur’anic and some of the Hadith texts concerning this topic. In all the texts corruption is condemned to be a great social evil and consequently a great sin and vice. This paper is a pioneer work in Bosnian language treating this subject which is astonishingly rare in Islamic world.
