Summary/Abstract: In 2003 the growth of entrepreneurship education in the US was charted and the trends were recognised and documented (Katz, 2003; Solomon and Fernald, 1991, Solomon and Weaver, 1994). These studies illustrated that entrepreneurship education had grown exponentially from the early 1970s and this growth continues today (Pittaway et al. 2011). From one or two courses scattered across the country entrepreneurship had grown into a discipline of its own, with associated majors, minors, centers, journals and endowed chairs (Katz, 2003). From almost nothing in 1970, the US now has many 1000s of professors and significant private funding from entrepreneurial benefactors. It is an established discipline in many US business schools and a reputable research subject in its own right.
