Summary/Abstract: The present paper focuses on important figures involved in promoting Norwegian language and culture in Bucharest, Romania, in the communist period, more precisely between the 1960s and 1980s. Leiv Flydal, Arne Halvorsen, Valeriu Munteanu and Ilinca Constantinescu all made their contribution to a better known image of Norway in Bucharest before the Romanian Revolution of 1989. In our research, we have used not only written proofs to be found in libraries or archives but also corresponded with time witnesses (either relatives or acquaintances of the above-mentioned), who could share with us valuable memories. In some situations, both the knowledge referring to the topic and the memories were limited, so we had to put all the information together like in a puzzle.
