Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to present selected aspects concerning the patriotic activities ofCelestyn Chołodecki (1816-1867). He took part in Galician conspiracies after the November Uprisingwas over. Subsequently, his professional work and family life diminished his involvement in thisfield. However, he maintained constant contact with independence activists, and during the Janu-ary Uprising he provided moral and material assistance to those taking part in that armed initiative.Furthermore, he attached great importance to the patriotic upbringing of his sons and the cultivationof Polish traditions.
