Summary/Abstract: This paper attempts to capture some of the relationships that have arisen in the European cultural space between human rights and the „queen“ of educational systems, the educational ideal, in the context of the somewhat abrupt transition of formal education from faith to secularization, from nationalism to interculturalism. A study that delves into the dysfunctionality of these relationships on a historical time scale, with the aim of inviting reflection and encouraging the promotion of human rights in contemporary education systems.
