Summary/Abstract: In the current context of the multiple crises affecting the world, the energy issue is in the foreground, as well as being a factor in military conflicts. It would appear that even the current conflict in Ukraine has an important energy‑related subtext and concerns the access of major economic powers to fossil energy resources in the Black Sea basin region. Of all the components of economic security, energy security is perhaps the most important, and it is tending over time to almost take over the dominant position. As we can see, today, almost all conflict zones are closely linked to the issue of access to energy resources. Unfortunately, it is in all cases a question of access to the intensive exploitation of non‑renewable resources, so‑called fossil fuels.
