Summary/Abstract: British documentation cited in this paper concludes that from 1914 to the end of the Second World War (WWII), the governments of the United Kingdom have in general viewed with sympathy Greek claims for the annexing of parts of southern Albania. After WWII, the role of Britain as a great power dimmed as international circumstances changed. The British governments modified their stand towards Greek claims, taking into consideration the policy of the United States (US) and the role of the Soviet Union in the defense of communist countries.
