Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse the legislator’s approach to the issue of organising sport. Organisingsports is an activity that may raise questions of interpretation. First and foremost, the question should be askedwhich entities are responsible for it in Polish law. The legislative decision to introduce an act into the Polish legalsystem that was fully dedicated to the matter of sports did not result in an unequivocal answer to this question. The legislator recognises the leading role of Polish sports associations as the only sports organisations grantedstatutory competence to organise sports competition. Such an approach, however, is too narrow and does nottake into account the organisational structure existing in Polish sport, in which other entities are also responsiblefor organising sport. In addition, the question of defining the concept of ‘sports organisation’ may raise doubts.
