Summary/Abstract: This exceptionally vast and complex exploration, carried out together by the authors Ana Maria Dinu (Irimescu), Livius Manea, Simona Nicolae, Monica Stanciu, Viorica Preda, Ecaterina Vrăsmaş, and Traian Vrăsmaş, accumulates the experiences of a significant number of professionals, collaborators, and directly involved individuals, detailing the gradual steps taken, the barriers, opportunities, and relevant proposals for necessary evolution in this field. Through this work, they aim to contribute to the following aspects: highlighting the national normative framework that refers to three variants, more or less particular forms, attributes of education, the last of which is more general – special, integrated, inclusive...; conceptualizing these three educational variants (3E), both locally and globally; scrutinizing the successes, inconsistencies, and errors – in legislation, management, and professional activities, as reference points and lessons for the future; bringing to light the activities and militant engagement, for over 23 years, of the national RENINCO network (plus 4-5 previous years as informal experience), regarding the community integration of children and young people with special educational needs; providing a synthetic presentation of some projects and published works, carried out in the field of special, integrated, and more recently, inclusive education, through the RENINCO - MEN - UNICEF - UNESCO pipeline and other institutional partners; providing an X-ray of the current situation of inclusive education in Romania, as a current and future paradigm, as an essential means to achieve the universal goal of education for all, for every human being, a paradigm launched over 31 years ago by the international community
