Summary/Abstract: The article discusses twentieth-century Italian films and books devoted to the personage of Cleopatra. Fascination with the myth of the Egyptian queen reached its climax during the period of fascism; but also later Cleopatra was the subject of many works, often having little in common with the historical facts.
