Summary/Abstract: In the hereby study I am referring to the influence of the German romanticism, more exactly, the influence of some herderian concepts on the public discourse of some Romanian interbelic intellectuals. I referred to Constantin Noica and Mircea Eliade, two fine intellectuals for the ethnical discourse during the time of the interbelic Romania. Some herderian concepts had a major impact on the two interbelic writers. Tributary to some abstract concepts, Noica and Eliade did not refer to the social problems and to the aspects that regard the creation of individual conscience. The effects of such a discourse had a serious echo not only during the interbelic period, but also during Ceausescu’s régime, generating the substance of national-communism.
