Summary/Abstract: Psychological tests are widely used toassess personality traits and cognitiveabilities. However, their potential application in translation studies remainslargely unexplored. This overview article aims to compare psychological testsused in identifying personality traits and cognitive abilities that may enhancetranslators' skills. Personality tests can reveal psychological factors that maybe crucial for effective translation. The psychological dimensions are oftenoverlooked despite the acknowledged importance of linguistic and culturalproficiency in translation studies. Emotional responses and personality traitssignificantly impact translators' decisions and performance, highlighting theneedfor further research. Implementing tests like the MBTI, DISC, Big Five, andHEXACO Personality Inventory can offer valuable insights. Understandingtranslators' personality traits can enable strategies for improvement and enhanceoverall translation outcomes. Bridging the gap in research regarding psychological dimensions is crucial for a comprehensive understandingof translators' behaviors and improving translation quality.
