Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of a person working in the aviation industry in condi- tions of constant changeability of factors and constant exposure to the need to adapt one’s behavior to unexpected changes in standard and non-standard situations. The article presents the key principles of aviation organization. Then the safety culture in the subject of the human factor in aviation is described. Subsequently, the models of safety management in aviation were analyzed, also referring to the human factor. The aim of the article is to analyze the impact of the human factor on the level of safety in air transport. In accordance with the adopted objective, the main research problem was formulated: how does the human factor affect the level of air transport safety? Obtaining an answer to the above question required the use of research methods, in- cluding a critical analysis of the literature on the subject and legal acts. The analysis of the indicated areas indicates that in order to improve the human factor in air transport, the introduction of appropriate measures should be considered and the directions of changes should be adopted.
