Summary/Abstract: This article examines the poet and dramatist Tsvetan Marangozov’s late texts published under the common title Traumaturgy. An attempt is made to trace and analyze some of the traumas of consciousness, defending the thesis that said consciousness cannot exist without the memory of traumas. The conclusion that traumas predetermine the past and the future of an individual because consciousness is self-destructive is arrived at using the method of close reading. An individual’s present is devoted to reflecting on the past and searching for the last thought. One of the most important and severe traumas that also turn out to be one of the factors behind the above is fear of one's own death which can very confidently be said to be overcome but then eventually replaced by others.
