Summary/Abstract: This research article examines the important role of information technology (IT) in the education system of inmates in penitentiary institutions. Modern education, in accordance with the challenges of modern society, seeks to use IT to improve educational methods and increase the accessibility of education. The authors emphasize that IT allows to revise the traditional model of education, emphasizing the active role of inmate learners, supporting their personal development and motivation. The article analyzes key aspects of IT implementation in prison education, including the meaningful use of IT, consistency of learning activities, and unambiguity in their execution. Teachers play an important role in providing support and direction for IT-enabled learning. The integration of IT into prison education creates an information environment that enhances learning and helps inmates to adapt to changes in their lifestyle after serving their sentence. The use of IT provides access to educational resources and stimulates personal development, contributing to more successful rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates into society.
