Summary/Abstract: The study, understanding and research of "regionalism" as an intrastate, international and global social-political phenomenon is to be carried out from several perspectives and in various semantic-analytical connotations. However, we consider it necessary to approach this process through an extensive analysis of the correlation between the notions "region", "regionalism", "regionalization", noting from the start that "region" presents the semantic root and the key category in the understanding of the other notions and the correlation between they. On the other hand, "regionalism" and "regionalization" represent not only the phenomena that characterize the processes of globalization and regional integration, the mechanism of the balance of global and regional development, but also the integrationist processes that often determine the emergence of regional entities, which under certain conditions manifest themselves in as international actors.
