Summary/Abstract: A comprehensive approach covering economic, technical and regulatory aspects of the problem is necessary to successfully solve the problems of food security in emergencies. This article embraces the basics of the “food security” concept and its constituents. The special traits of the food security amid emergencies are shown. Economic aspects of the problem are considered at the example of the actual COVID-19 pandemic. The performed analysis of the problem of mutual consideration of technical regulation and food safety issues proves the possibility and expediency of involving food safety issues in the technical regulation of food raw materials and food products, the formulation of recommendations regarding the practical consideration of the requirements of food safety issues in regulatory documents of various levels: national standards, standards of other level, technical conditions. It is advisable to implement the specified consideration by modifying the current and developing new regulatory documents.
