Summary/Abstract: Employment, in particular youth employment is ever increasingly becoming a global concern and goal. International labor Organization (ILO) is continuously providing assistance to local governments to establish proper policies and infrastrucrure that will afford opportunities for young generation to find a decent work, enabling feel useful for themselves and society, and preventing them to potentially become threat for the entire society. Kosova, alike other under developed and developing countries in transition, is facing such a challenge that progressively is becoming serious concern. Coming out of the war, with its unresolved political status, fragile economy resulting in non sustainable development, youngest people in Europe, etc. is in more unfavorable position than the other countries to overcome the accumulated problems. Alerted government authorities and civil society are putting their efforts forward to addressing youth employment issues. The first one is instituting policies and legal infrastructure aspiring and purporting to promote and strengthen youth position in society, in particular establishing policies that will address youth employment. Accordingly, two synchronized action plans: Kosova Youth Action Plan 2007-2010 and Kosova Youth Employment Action Plans, as well as Draft-Law for Youth Empowerment and Participation haye been drafted. Civil society, especially youth NGO have significantly contributed in this process, as they are organizing all around Kosova round table discussions and workshops, aiming to help their peers to get actively :involved and fully integrated into society, in particular in rural areas. In addition, particular efforts are being made to strengthen education system and produce young professionals, who will easily meet labor market demands. Moreover, vocational schools and professional training, where mostly young generation is the beneficiary, are afforded on regular basis. This article aim to separately put some insight into the issues highlighted above.
