Summary/Abstract: This study addresses European elements of material culture in Rus’ in the period from the second half of the 12th to the 15th century. The paper considers issues related to the possibility of integrating various dress accessories, jewelry and household items of the medieval West among the ancient Rus’ population. Special attention is paid to the reception of European symbolism in the ancient Rus’ context and the possibility of using Catholic objects of personal piety in the Orthodox world. The evidence studied for the purposes of this work included objects of Western European production found during archaeological excavations on the territory of ancient Rus’ principalities.
