Summary/Abstract: Romania's participation in the First World War and the calling of our country's soldiers to the front put before the Romanian Orthodox Church the problem of providing religious assistance to those who will go to defend the Country, the Church and the Romanian Nation at the cost of their lives. So, archpriest Constantin Nazarie occupies an important place in this sense, being the one who laid the foundations of the Religious Service of the Romanian Army and made the training of the military priesthood for the service of the Romanian Army reach a high level in terms of quality and effectiveness. In these circumstances, the military priest was called to be permanently in the midst of the soldiers, giving them an example of courage, when their optimism showed signs of faltering, and of strong faith in God. But the military priests were not only examples of hope and faith, but also of love, performing with great devotion various actions that not infrequently put their lives in danger. Thus, the military priest in the First World War was also on the front line looking for the wounded and infirm to care for them and bring them to the field hospitals behind the front where the same priests served to care for and heal them. The various records or testimonies of the time tell us about the courage of the priests, as well as the various distinctions, medals, badges that come to appreciate all the work done in the service of the country.
