Summary/Abstract: In April 2022, the Chinese Ministry of Education issued the "Compulsory Education Art Curriculum Standards (2022 Edition)" (referred to as the "New Standards" below), which includes music, fine arts, dance, drama (including opera), film and television (including digital media arts) courses. Compared with the 2011 edition of the "Compulsory Education Music Curriculum Standards," the "New Standards" have undergone many changes in objectives, content, teaching methods, and other aspects of the music curriculum. This article analyzes the new changes and existing issues in the music curriculum of the "New Standards" a nd proposes some solutions, providing insights and suggestions for the future teaching and reform of music courses.
