Learning parenting in large families

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the topic of parenting education in large families. Thefirst part of the article presents the current knowledge on the acquisition of parental com-petences, their sources, as well as the impact of these competences on the functioning ofthe family and the issues of parenting pedagogy. The second part of the text contains a de-scription of the methodology of my own research, conducted for the purpose of writinga master’s thesis, the subject of which was how parents in large families learn to educateand acquire competences. In the next part of the article, the results of this study are presented and discussed with the observations of other researchers.
