Summary/Abstract: Today, TED Talks are a powerful platform for spreading ideas, fostering empathy, and challenging societal norms. Especially in the field of mental health discourse, these speeches became a tool to raise awareness about the problems of the spread of mental illness. The fascinating nature of TED Talks lies not only in the stories, but also in the rhetorical argumentative strategies used by the speakers. Mental health, often burdened with stigma and misconceptions, finds a powerful voice in the visual narratives and evidence-based arguments presented in TED Talks. Effectively using personal stories, statistics and persuasive arguments, TED Talks speakers demonstrate the ability to make the case for important aspects of mental health by going beyond the usual debates to evoke compassion, challenge perceptions and inspire action. The purpose of the article is to analyze various rhetorical argumentative strategies used in TED Talks on mental health issues. The object of this study is transcripts taken from a selected playlist dedicated to mental health issues available on the TED website (https://www.ted.com/topics/mental+health). Research methods. In the article, we use the method of deductive detection of rhetorical argumentative strategies, which involves deductive analysis of transcripts of speeches. We also apply contextual-interpretative analysis in order to explain the context of a passage taken from a speech. Pragmatic analysis, based on strategies and tactics of human communication, is used to analyze the main motives of Ted Talks speakers. The scientific novelty lies in the detailed examination of the various rhetorical argumentative strategies used by the speakers to promote mental health awareness. The impact of these strategies on audience perceptions, public perceptions, and promotion of ideas about mental health is analyzed, providing a novel approach to understanding the impact of communication in TED Talks on public perception. Conclusions. An analysis of rhetorical argumentative strategies in TED Talks on mental health reveals a diversity of communication approaches. Speakers use personal stories, statistics, and intellectualization to engage the audience. These strategies help improve awareness of mental health issues and can help reduce stigma. This approach to communication through TED Talks has the potential to significantly impact the perception and support of mental health in society.
