Summary/Abstract: Despite the prevalence of drug trafficking in Colombia’s strategic scenario, little isknown about the participation and role of women in this criminal activity. Hence,this paper provides a qualitative study on the participation of women and thedifferent roles they can play in all the links of the criminal chain, from the productionof narcotics to their commercialization and exportation. Through interviews anda review of relevant documents, this article seeks to determine the role of womenin drug trafficking in Colombia and whether this role has diversified today. Thefieldwork, in particular, indicates that women’s participation has indeed changed.
