Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at addressing aspects of the destiny of Romanian education, in general, and of academic education, in particular. We are particularly concerned with the aspects related to the evolution in the academic career, but also those which aimed at the organization and development of education in all its cycles, especially the higher education. The considered context is that of some cyclical reforms that are carried out in the regulation of the education process, and which have as a declared target the need for its permanent modernization, which does not respect a fair balance with the constant elements that characterize the Romanian space. We also add the fact that the promoted solutions emphasize the elements of form and procedure, on technical criteria, of form, to the detriment of substantive aspects that must retain their priority. Contemporary education is faced with challenges, which it is not always able to face. Therefore, the responsibility rests with the legislative body, which creates the normative framework for organizing and conducting the educational process and the executive one, the administration, in general, which implements it.
