Summary/Abstract: The ‘ugly ware’ of the age of Romanisation has the characteristic of presenting a series of very widespread types of decoration; within this general category, the area of Como is distinguished by specificities: the prevalence of globular vessels without rim and very simple decorations that are frequently repeated. The study of vases that have never been published and the re‑examination of vases that have already been published allows us to find many similarities and to increase comparisons; they are dated from the Augustan to Tiberian periods and are usually of low quality. With great probability, it can be assumed that there were pottery factories in the area.
