Summary/Abstract: Even though the digital technologies in education have experienced an unprecedented development, particularly during the past 15 years, in music this process is very complex and still difficult to accomplish, especially in technical terms, when it requires the simultaneous execution of music pieces by multiple players from various locations. Because the issue of sound latency has not been regarded as a priority for the field of music, many software developers have made haste to come up with proposals, crowding the market with offers that need supplementary testing. The method In Media Stat Virtus, proposed by Giunti Pychometrics from Florence, in partnership with the music conservatories from Spezia, Coruña, Brussels, Ljubljana, and Cluj-Napoca, was born out of a need to analyse the functionality level of the platforms that exist on the market at present, to sort and catalogue them according to their relevance and capacity to produce a significant development for the current field of music.
