Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes the conceptual dichotomy of the concepts of postmodernity-metamodernity, postmodernism-metamodernism, postmodernity-metamodernity. The cultural and historical boundaries of metamodernism are defined, which is not only a successor to postmodernism, but also a reaction to it, including the reconfiguration of sensuality associated with the currents of modernity. The author reveals the content of metamodernism’s ideas about the return of hope and sincerity after decades of dominance of postmodern irony and cynicism.
