Summary/Abstract: This analysis covers the issue of effectiveness management of tourist destination both locally and globally. The paper explains the destination concept and attempts to synthesize several problems referring to specific design and operation of tourist destinations taking into account sustainable development. The analysis is going to demonstrate that the orientation of the future may bring visions of sustainable development of tourist destination with a focus on benefits for tourists and the local community. The study is analyzing tourist destination management strategy assuming hypothetically that for its efficiency and sustainability it is necessary to focus on its planning, positioning and benchmarking.
