THE HUMAN COST OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS THROUGH THE PRISM OF COBALT MINING IN CONGO

Summary/Abstract: The report was developed based on a literature review and aims to examine the ethical issues associated with cobalt mining in the Democratic Republic of the Congo through the prism of international business. It aims to untangle the complex web of economic interests, corporate responsibility, and human rights. Specific examples of the policies undertaken by technology leaders, the circumstances that led to their necessity, and empirical data examining the importance of cobalt on a global scale, are examined.
