Summary/Abstract: The protection of trade union leaders is not new in ECtHR jurisprudence, but the analysis of compliance with Article 11 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms is one that is constantly evolving and presents, in each case, new particularities that determine this evolution. The article presents new benchmarks from recent ECtHR jurisprudence in this matter, resulting from the judgments pronounced in the Straume v. Latvia and Hoppen Trade Union of AB Amber Grid Employees v. Lithuania cases, accompanied by the author's commentary and examples from national jurisprudence.
